Angelo,Although the idea might be looks like an “elegant” at a hi-fi shows but unfortunately it has a lot of pitfalls, the terminal pitfalls for my point of view. This is only my opinion but still:1) LF channel- the bassmaxx. I never had or hear...

Rony, the Vitavox S2 is an interesting MF driver for 110dB sensitivity. In near or sub 100dB there are plenty interesting MF performers. The Lowther doing MF only and do not stretched for idiotic full range is very good option and Horning did show it...

With all advantages of DSET with multi-ways it is a pain in ass to maintain it. For instance now I am chasing for 2-3 weeks a mean thing. Whoever use 6C33C know how the tube dies – it begin to produces from time to time those dry non- harmonic bursts...

I have a second system in the kitchen. The speaker is a small Monitor Audio 2way which I picked up over 10 years ago for $500/pair (new). They are ported in the rear and hang from the ceiling in front of the brick wall, powered by chip amps.

Mani, I am not talking about the Zu when I say that there is little chance of just buying and plugging in any given ready-made component into any given system and getting Music, ever. If anyone asks me, I always say, think of speakers-amps-room as on...

If you want to keep it really simple just buy an Oppo BDP-83SE ($800) and use its two-channel audio analog outs to an amp with volume controls. All the setup features you need are in the Oppo including the downmix to 2.0.A new projector will run you ...

Jordi,The pictures of your system are very revealing. I would say if the sound you are getting makes you happy then more power to you. I would not worry about what others say about how to "improve things" as that is the path of the audiop...

Romy, after reading my previous post I realize I would have to express myself more clearly, sorry for the misunderstanding! This hobby is an important part of my life, I have specific opinions and am probably not less serious about them than you are....

One of the problems with horns is the inflexibility of frequency cut-off: you are limited to a discrete number equal to the number of horns you have. This makes experimentation difficult without having an absurdly large array of different hor...

Last week I have written an article: “Upperbass preoccupation and Vitavox S2 driver” where I ran over some my thoughts how the specific sonic virtues of Vitavox S2 driver allow to get an “interesting” upper bass from an upper bass channel, even thoug...

I would like to dedicate this thread to sharing views about a theoretically ideal, ultimate horn system. What would it be? Am NOT talking about the typical wishful thinking when people publicly drooling what they would d...

[quote user="anthony"]Macondo is no magic bullet. Sure, Macondo/DSET is put together in a way that it's components need for optimal operation, and when "used as directed" the performance is phenomonal, but it is still prone to room integration and p...
