The bso and andris nelsons and declining interest
Since Romy is in the environs I was curious about what is going on at the BSO. This is the summary I got:

The Boston Symphony Orchestra (BSO) has reported a $27 million surplus for fiscal 2025, alongside an endowment valued at approximately $603 million. Despite the positive financial indicators, the BSO has experienced a 40% decline in attendance over the past 20 years. This trend raises concerns about the orchestra's long-term viability and audience engagement.

I was frankly surprised at the massive attendance decline in just the last 20 years.  I get it that the BSO is currently viable financially but it is hard to see how they can continue this way if the endowment doesn't generate enough income to cover operating expenses.  A recession  I assume would cause severe problems. Is there a connection between these financial issues and the Andris Nelsons termination?
