Thanks for the good description how to use this Magic Eraser, haven't read about it before.
Thanks for the friendly advice for alcohol which I did forget for many years. My focus was on the very expensive cleaning fluids in these tiny bottles and...

Headphones can help people build good cheap systems, and/or also not have to worry about the room, annoying others with loudness. There's some ground to cover that shouldn't be THAT hard or expensive. If you've "given up" on finding good headphone so...

I've sort of "analyzed" your thinking (more like taking what you've said so far and continued with my own ideas) and come to the conclusion the most you could do in "your" (could be more like mine) type of way to try to improve yo...

Good afternoon Romy! I'm Pat Mattucci, and I'd like to respond to your post. How interesting you would post a response to my humble question to an obscure little group on my birthday, of all days. I'm honored. I also happen to be from the Philadelphia...

Or at least after visiting this site for a bit, and "knowing" about you more, not too much, because I realize you are like "graveyard serious" about audio, heh heh.Anyways, yeah, the point from me was to try to get you or others to think more positiv...

enjoy_the_music wrote "but would it be easier to use a device like the old Audio Technica AT-666?"I had one of those, and it was horrible. You need to stop the platter, attach a hose, pump (manually if I remember correctly), detach the hose.Mine woul...

Hi Romy,I am currently in the process of rebuilding my 834 PT. I see you don't use the capacitor bypass on V2, does this have any effect on overall gain of the corrector? I've recently acquired audio Technica ART7 cartridge which is low (0.12 mv) out...

This is ridicules – I can’t for 3 weeks to find any ready to go USB Managed Power Strip that would allow me to turn Tuner, MPX decoder and A/D processor by running remote desktop to my PC. I theoretically can build one myself but it shall be out ther...

Tnks Romy, as a matter of facts I cant hear sensible differences either... Wd eventually immagine that the tighter the thread, the worst for motor shaft. If I can take the chance of hving yr advise, wd ask about possible improvement in using a vibrap...

How would you go about this?If the platter was massive you would need some very strong magnets? Therefore the platter would have to be quite deep so the magnets fields did not interfere with the cartridge. Would you manufacture the platter out of non-...
Making a vacuum hold down is quite simple, but would it be easier to use a device like the old Audio Technica AT-666? I guess the material used in the latter is not the ultimate. You don't need a great amount of vacuum ...

Hello Romy,I have been using the Max 282 with a Koetsu Urushi Platinum .2mV the last 6 months with excellent results to my ears. I have a few mundane questions that I could use some help with.I am using the fixed headshell "pipe." Have you found any ...

Ok, the Headphone “Baby Melquiades” protect is over. Well, kind of over as there are some issues still are hanging in there.
A brief summary. The initial idea was to use the Melquiades’ input stage to drive headphones. Unfortunately it did not...

Hi, George
First off all I have to mention that I use Max 282 as my “second” arm. I mean my best stereo cartridge I use with 3012 as I feel that it has more interesting lover bass and upper bass then 282. The 282 has slightly hollow and slightly bor...

What a lovely picture.Hi Romy,Many thanks for the valuable information. By fingerlift I mean that piece of metal sticking out about 1" (1/8" wide) at the extreme left end of the pipe. It is attached by two screws to the pipe. It looks easily removabl...

Thanks for detailed answer. I'll go for 316L. So I would not worry about magnet issue, especially because also I use CU-180 or Audio Technica AT-666EX mat (air suction type).
As my taste is closer to steel I have plan to make also the 316L version...

Hmmm...let's see, I'm pretty young, to the point where I don't have any major source of money income, so I do with what I can when I can and want to, just like many other suffering young and/or poor audiophiles. It's like this, I don't listen to any ...
I can take the chance of hving yr advise, wd ask about possible improvement in using a vibraplane under both motor and platter. Time beingthe motor is on 4 Audio Technica feet AT605 and the platter on 4 graphite blocks and th...
The SG146LD4 driver can play down to 20Hz but we choose to crossover the horn at 70Hz only due to the space limitation of my listening room.
Ming, here is the whole point. If the driver meant to be play20Hz then ...

The headphone amplifiers are mystery for me. Form one perspective it should be simple but from another perspective I never heard any interestingly performing headphones amplifiers. Well, I have to take it back probably as wherever I even heard differ...

I can’t say that I like the headphones that people call “good.” I have heard a number of high-class phones, including the one that I was told cost over 5 thousands dollars and I was not impressed what I heard. Some people suggest the while I used tho...

Stitch, the very same what TechDas did with AF-1 took place
with Continuum. As they first time show up out of woods, they target $25K retail
and 15K to distributes. Then as the company gains publicity, means the few ordinary
systems begin to spin ...
