I see. I thought you had the disks and the setup. BTW. Marston Records published some very nice CDs of Hofmann's recordings....
If you do, could you do the remastering of his early recording yourself? Some sound clips you did sound very good....
Does this mean one may one day get free power from the neighbors?...
I see what you mean by opportunity. Even though their motive may be otherwise, they invest money to have engineers to solve the problems and increase our understading in the field....
For me, since there is the old recording and I can suffer easily the crappy noises, I do not need to reach Cortot's playing through the computer's replay. For performances of which there are only piano paper rolls, it is different mat...
Heard the prelude in Cortot's recording and it's computerized "replay" recording. It's no longer the same touch. I guess the hardest thing, the tone, refuses to be reproducible....
I first saw this warming up footage on youtube. It is very impressive. I wonder how today's pianists do their warm up. I used to have a Cziffra DVD. It was broken by my baby trying to take it out of the dvd case. In this ...

Hi, Romy:Thanks a lot for describing this interesting phenomenon! As to why it happened, I am not sure. Maybe it had to do with the requirement of being strictly faithful to the music score, lack of imagination as a result of being f...
(because multiple reasons)Could you please expand on this? I am very much interested. Thanks!...
It has to take quite some time for the Chinese engineers to move away from audiophile test CD recording style....
May be the chickeb hut horns have soem digital delay in place, so the spatial pisitioning of the driver does not have any effect there for the owner?...
Too bad the clip does not paly the barking of the 'dogs'....
I like that, especially when the fish flesh is cold and fresh....
the croosover point of LF and HF looks located at about 6 KH where the wave length is a little more than 2". Then the impeded opening of the LF driver should be less of a problem theoretically....
I take that back. The graph shows the FR with the horn already in place....
I am not sure if this is the driver you are talking about. It seems that the external horn could just help with the drop from 700 Hz to lower frequencies.http://www.bmspro.info/photos/bmspro_info/bms-4592nd.pdfI can see why it is bad with 7K Hz...
Some drivers have a rising db curve from low to high frequencies. The horn may help with flattening the FR. If the FR of a given coaxial compression driver is flat, I would agree with your conclusion....

That was a very enjoyable reply there!I wonder how many concerts one has to attend in order to catch a good one.About the loud passages: it might not be the ego of the pianists. It is very hard to play loud passages of big chords eff...

Make sure that the painist does not think that you are a stalker of hers!!...

Too bad the concert is all sold out in my town.Just curious: you said that her notes are loaded with second meaning; what is the first meaning then?...
Too bad the other source does not work well lately (classes and blank). I wonder if this one can be good for a little longer and I am not sure what it is: mms://141.155.201.61/channel3

BTW, let me to expand a littlie on my last comment. I always personally with some suspicion and difficulty “get” what German high-end audio does. They frequently target some very “bicepsy” sound but they kid of very libe...

You got me for a second. Then I hurried to view the post before the opportunity would disapear, it gave me such a relief....

They meant it to be surprise, so they never tell their schedule.Glad you like it....

I do not know the long term quality of this streaming service, but it works for me now:http://video.csupomona.edu/LiveOne-245.asx...

Interesting. Will give a listen to the CD to find out. BTW, I find that an audio person with this kind of understanding is a very rare thing. I think that's what attracts to this site....
Such a natural, flexible being one with the piano way of handling the keyboard. I am stunned! That aside, I have to say that Nora can really give a lesson or two to a lot of hand injury suffering pianists....
{let just look at the horns: 60Hz-500Hz-15 kHz}What does this mean? THere seems to be three horns. Does the above mean one horn covers from 60Hz to 500Hz, the middle one from 500Hz to 15K and the last one from 15K to upper somewhere. ...

I spent more time thinking of a title than typing the post. But I'll try to abide to the requirement.I agree with your observation of the tone produced by most of today's pianists. I only disagree with the reason behind it. I think ...
