I'm learning a lot on this Forum: lotta quoting and tips about the Great Masters - Beethoven, Mahler, Rachmaninov, Prokofiev, Mussorgsky and the Great Conductors Legacy: Toscanini, Walter, Furtwangler, Barbirolli, Boult...

... the musical topics - always interesting and informative - are, of course, biased, better - tuned to Administrator's tastes... I'd do the same, in an eventual Forum of mine... BUT, please allow me to investigate or, at least, quote, hint different music worth some attention...

I'm quite omnivorous and listen to almost every kind of music... during (sometimes) very long months I don't listen to any classical, not to my beloved Britten and other XX Century composers - Stockhausen, Koechlin, Berio, Della Piccola, Busoni, Henze, Messiaen... and also - to my shame - any Greats - Beethoven and the above mentioned...

... but also when - like these days - months long days, I admit - I'm heavily grooving into obscure Krautrock from '60s and '70s - I breathe fresh mountain air listening to David Munrow superb recordings on EMI and Argo, to Rene Clemencic's on Harmonia Mundi and to Bach Cantatas on Telefunken - or Bruggen's, or Leonhardt's and lot of Hopkinson Smith's playing French lute music and Marin Marais viola da gamba music played by Jordi Savall and Blandine Verlet on harpsichord playing Couperin's... all in glorious Astree sound.

... again, Sylvius Leopold Weiss - a fantastic lute composer and a contemporary of J.S. Bach simply blew my mind with his melodies and I'm never tired of his music... while I'm quite often not in the right mood for ballet music.

The a.m. Greats pretend the full listener attention and they do not allow any blending with other music, which I don't always like: Grieg's Peer Gynt or Mahler's Titan or Respighi's, for example, very often leave me in tears.
How can I groove and feel cool with some electric Miles' after being soul-naked by Bloch's Schelomo directed my Z. Mehta?!?

Are the above names plucking someone string of interest, emotion, or... have I to let you know - to someone blaming and vomit;-) -  what I'm able to listen in the same listening session, with friends or alone: Miles' Bitches Brew, some Cluster, Can, Faust or Amon Duul or Popol Vuh's krautrock, Muddy Waters or Skip James, Toyohiko Satoh on lute, some orchestral Frank Zappa, Meredith Monk, Ralph Towner and Oregon, Arvo Part... say: one side each...

... am I ill, doctor?;-)
