Just stumbled onto this pdf file containing more than anyone needs to know about the old Philips TDA 1549T stereo DAC chip. A fair question would be, "What does this mean?" Dunno. I can say that this chip as John Wright adapts its implementation can be used to get CD sound "close to analog" in terms of Music appreciation, according to my listening demands, including acceptable-to-me "harmonics". I got a laugh when I recently found out that the old Sony CD player I stuck with for so many years (before the Museatex) used TDA1541 chips.

Oh, should say the Acoustic Revive S/PDIF cable offered above is long gone.
