I found THIS data about the aluminum thermal expansion and I understand it looks like pretty low.
I am particularly thinking about 'Aluminum 7075', btw.
Another thing that came to my mind is aluminum hulls tends to be quite noisy (steel hull not); however I don't know if the same would apply in a horn!
Also, for aluminum and steel, black oxide (and other oxide types) could be used instead of painting, and/or powder coating too.
