There is a very interesting subject in Language of Audio – the filter slope. The filter slope is well known aspect in the audio and here is nothing new could be said in there but there a twist in the filter slope. If we are talking about  multi-channels playback, let say 5-7 channels like Macondo is, then the filter slope become one of the most expressive and distinctive tools of playback. The filter slope set everything in place. It dictates what kind drivers might be used, how the room is integrated with speakers, what loading each channels would like to use, how the channels will be taking with each other, it set the phase behavior of playback and many other aspects. A selection of filters slope says a LOT about the playback owner’s intention and objectives. The selection of the filter is a true fundamental keystone of Audio Language and very powerful communicative tool.
