is perhaps some relieve to the person having problems with those "Bs", other then Beethoven by being so much more accessible then e.g. Brahms (at least to some).

Bruckner, yet another of those Bs not having always been appreciated, include myself here. He too needs some kind of 'primer' (a performance that can reach you) in order to get on with his music. Now Haiting's No.8 is of great help for me in this instance.

My primary problem with this composer is his dogged insistence to modulate his music like a Bi-polar depressive nut. It has to rise up and down, up and down, on and on and on, when some conductors are just going completely nuts over it all. It's like every 20 - 30 seconds one needs to take cover from all the 'overstated' fortissimos, like waves of a stormy ocean brutally, and stupidly crashing into a sea-wall, to it's distruction.

I'm sure that was Bruckner's idea of sorts... but if not somehow done with the proper build-up of tension and then releasing it, it can become tedious to the extreme by being so stupidly predictable --- yet another case of "EXIT - in case Bruckner"?
Well, so much is dependent on the conductor's interpretation in this case too.

Thankfully this No.8 is just fine by me, it's why I though it needed some mentioning.
