Hi Romy,
When youmdiscuss silicon dumping with your 3012 do you mean the silicon you put on headshell orDo you mean you use a silicon bath to damp the arm resonance, or both? I can't find the thread and I have decided to spend some time with my vinyl setup this year, see if i can become one with my micro seiki.
Thanks, Rony

Putting the silicon in headshell was not “dumping” but rather increased the headshell mass. I did used the silicon bath with 3012 but it was not to deal with resonance. I had my 9Hz with the silicon bath or without it. The silicon bath does very slightly, to my ears, impact the character of transients. Not even the transients but the character of transients. At the time I used Shelter 901 that is very brutal cartridge I felt that silicon bath was beneficial. As I moved to my current Jubilee I felt that there is no need for silicon bath anymore, at least I did not hear any sonic advantages.
