That looks like the show installation to me....

I'm impressed that you could tell. I thought the system it was playing through was one of the poorer ones. But the new turntable is expensive & shiny. I'm sure they'll sell plenty regardless....

A friend of mine showed this 5 way system at the annual enthusiasts event at Scalford Hall here in the UK.This comprises Lab Subs for LF, Some straight 80 Hz h...

I see Tech Das launched a new baby TT at Munich. The Air Force 3 looks more like a Micro than the other two. While not built on quite the same scale it still features an air bearing and actually looks prettier, for what that's worth, than the other t...

I didn't hear them playing that piece. I wish I had. At least it was a recording of something real. Everything I heard in there was some or other kind of synthesised Sci-Fi crap with no relation to anything that might previously have been encountered...
|
They weren't 'selling' anything. You could ask about the Japanese GIP reproduction drivers or pick up a leaflet but no one actually mentioned them. The owner of Silbatone has another business making & selling cars. I don't think he's under any pr...
Well, there are different Models from Rockport out there .... and I also listened to the latest version Sirius III. Based on the technical specs (heavy 30 kg platter, air bearing horizontal, vertical) I thought it must be super s...

The Rockport Sirius 3 platter is around 30 Kg which suggests to me that you haven't seen, used or heard one. From your description, whatever it was that you did hear bears no resemblance to how it sounds. I can only assume that whatever it was, it wa...

The demonstration of the WE equipment was impressive as was looking closely at how these horns were constructed. The arrangement (originally it would have been mono) was to provide the audience seated both in the stalls or circle with an evenly bala...

www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p01zcr6dI shall try to get along to the Science museum while this exhibition is ongoing.I did hear the WE12 & WE13 horns at the Munich show last week. That installation was extremely impressive on the occasions I visited....

Reading through the Whatsbest forum thread it does seem that Stitch/Syntax has a history of praising the efforts/products of Daniel Brakemeier aka Dertonarm from AGon. Some also seem to have paid in advance for some of these items and not to have rec...

Here's the 4th Movement Pt2http://snk.to/f-ctcfo8fnNot sure why those 1st Movement links all connect to the 3rd Movement. Will resolve it today.EDIT: Try these links1st M Pt1http://snk.to/f-chilrflj1st M Pt2http://snk.to/f-chkmw9mh1st M Pt3http://snk...

Here's the B7 with Esa Pekka Salonen & the Philharmonia. The filesharing site was being very strict in not allowing uploads >100MB but some careful editing means that these files can be run sequentially without interrupting any music.1st Move...

I'm not sure why your 3rd Movement Pt1 should stop at 9:16. The recording doesn't have that problem.Anyhow, I've re-edited the beginnings & ends of Pt1 & Pt2 to make them complete and the transition as it should be.Here are the new links.B8 ...

That's interesting. The versions I sent you were the continuous uninterrupted recordings as burnt to two separate CD's, ie one for Mov'ts 1&2 and the other for Mov'ts 3&4. But they were sent via a different file sharing system (wetransfer.com...

I'm having difficulty uploading to mediafire this morning so here's a minute of the Bruckner 8 (from FM) uploaded to Filesnack.http://snk.to/f-ch5y7sam...

I have this No.8 recorded from the FM transmission at 16/44 so I can transfer that. My son figured out how to acquire the 320 mp3 version of No4 yesterday although he did imply there was also a WMA version he could get which might be better. I'll ask...

Beyond my skills I'm afraid. I've set my son onto it but if you could do it it would help!http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio/player/b039c6wn...

I now have the 7th & 8th but I didn't get the 4th & don't know how to save it from the BBC website. I expect they'll broadcast it again but I don't know when. If Decoud can grab that one you'll have all 3.The 8th was impressive....

Kevin is good company. A shame you didn't spend an evening at home with him. Usually some nice cigars & whiskies to enjoy there! How did you find the 'shop' and the speakers?Oxford is well worth a visit....

That prom is to be broadcast again on BBC Radio 3 on tuesday 3rd September at 2pm. I'll try to record it but it will only be 16/44 to my CD recorder.Although you can listen to all of it (in 2 episodes) on the BBC iPlayer now for a further week or so....

If you have the energy you could see what lunchtime concerts there are at Wigmore Hall that week and also whether the Barbican or Royal Festival Hall have anything.Even this might be fun.http://www.stmartin-in-the-fields.org/event/concerts/Four-Seaso...

They were playing some Schubert Lieder, Tchaikovsky and a very challenging George Crumb piece while I was in there. Was interested to see a gunmetal compression chamber on the rear of his new S2's.

Same person, same show, TW turntable.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FhEVL9rnwtQIf he is stopping the platter I'd have guessed that the belt must be slipping on the motor pulley while it is stalled. These turntables don't appear to be using 'slip' mat...

Wasn't sure where to put this but has to be seen to be believed.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NJ9tCRh41OMI think this is at a show in Bangkok. I'm amazed the exhibitors allowed it to happen. That Ikeda cartridge isn't really designed for this kind o...

I wasn't involved in putting this together so perhaps one or two of those that did will chime in.From the thread..."The source was J River playing through a Lynx AES16 soundcard. Two digital outputs to the Behringer DCX2496s, acting as digital XOs an...
