Romy you become more and more cantankerous as time passes, you mentioned digital attenuation in the first place, as to a 'higher reason to own a playback' what poppycock, I own a system to play music on what do you own yours for?...
I thought we were just discussing attenuation, regarding connectivity the Weiss sounds best via it's firewire input, just a bit sharper, I find everything is a little more clearly defined than AES /s/pdif.Keith....
Listening to one at the moment, you can adjust the analogue gain, to use the least digital attenuation.Keith....
Eric Hi, this isn't the place, try both in your system if you can, Keith....
Are the Trios not time alligned already?...
Thanks Markus, have you heard it, TW recommended it ,and it is a superb little amp, after the CA10 valves seem a little blurry. regards Keith....
Mainly because of my young daughter I have been listening to mostly solid state amps, I have enjoyed 'Digital DoMain's' B1-a VFET, and am now listening to a German 'Audioprojeckte' CA10, 10 watt class A design, ( I will post a link later as their sit...
This is their website, http://www.digital-do-main.com/ and this is the designation of the vfet they use, 2sk 77B ( I will try and find a photo )is it new?Keith....
I have been listening for the last few weeks to a modern Vfet design by digital do main, the B1-a , 'inspired' I suppose by the earlier Yamaha amp, it too unlike any ss amp I have heard, it isn't at all harsh or strident it has tremendous resolution,...
You have an opinion on most things ( whether you have heard them on not ) I thought you would jump at the chance to pronounce on the Druids, seemingly not.

Romy can you tell us what you thought of the Zu loudspeakers, I spent an afternoon in their company recently, they were being used with a 25 watt PP Luxman, I believe.
Keith.

Perhaps you would be kind to teach us all how attenuation should take place in the digital domain. The world holds it breath.

Thomas Hi, welcome, wonderful work , how can one contact you directly?

Sonic Studios 'soundblade ' is the most transparent software I have 'heard' Wavelab is also very good and much cheaper. If you use Macs you might try Sonic's 'Amarra'it is the first of a plethora of similarly based players, improves on standard itune...

David beetles is the US distributor, I am sure he would send you one for evaluation, 'hammertone audio' get him to send you the head amp too, that is also worth a listen.Keith....
Guy Hi do you know the driver compliment, 703 I can see, Mike mentioned a 2002, the 'new' S2?What else Keith....

To be unveiled at the Monaco International Boat Show, apparently....
Jessie Hi, re question 1, drop Jon a line at Sonic, he is far better placed to advise you on the addition of new codecs and hardware , the 'early adopter' software is I believe $1000, there is a demo version but it cuts out after 30 seconds which is ...
Short answer yes, the auto sample rate sensing, dithered volume and eq are useful features , the Metric halo/ Sonic Studio Model 4 is also a cracking adc/dac.But yes primarily the sound, did you get a chance to listen to Amarra at Flemings? Keith....
I heard a demonstration of the software ,versus standard itunes in Munich, I thought it a significant improvement, more texture to the sound, more space around individual components, and the auto sample rate sensing is useful....
Sounds as though you had a wonderful time. The Brinkmann room alternated between three tables, their 'La grange ' direct drive 'Oasis' and a balace with a 'Thales' tonearm, the Verity's use a ribbon tweeter Raal? Which in that undamped room was just ...
Stitch, he hasn't been staying with me this week, just out of idle curiosity which rooms at Munich did you and your audio moron friends enjoy?...
Quote, ' But I avoid conversations with audio morons. It is pretty boring. 'I thought you said they were your friends!...
Stitch I spent the week in Munich and was fortunate enough to spend quite a biy of time in rooms that interested me, did your friends compare hi-fi to other hi-fi or do they compare hi-fi to real music? Romy are you familiar withthe 833 tube?...
Your audiophile buddies must be deaf stitch, the Cessaro room was easily the best at the show, although to be fair there wasn't much competition, Magico sounded as if the sound was being pushed into the speakers, YG wasn't bad, their sealed aluminiu...
OLE where did you hear the big Lansche?...
Not the same thing at all, but the New Amarra software allows for auto sampling rate switching on itunes, I heard a dem last week in Munich , itunes and then switching in Amarra and the Amarra sounded way more interesting, Jonathan from Sonic studio...
Thanks Mani, that is very kind of you, I 'bought' one a few years back but eventually the seller preffered to sell locally! I did hear a rumour that the Berkeley boys were going to make a new 'model III' but Mike Ritter quashed that particular rumour...
